Symptoms Of Pregnancy Heartburn-Living With Heartburn During Pregnancy

A lot of women all over the country suffer from symptoms of pregnancy heartburn especially during the later part of their pregnancy. According to experts, the changes in the level of hormones in pregnant women would soften the ligaments that would normally have kept the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) tightly closed. Note that when the LES is open most of the time, food and gastric acid could escape into the esophagus and throat causing that burning sensation. Where the symptom of pregnancy heartburn is so intense, many women would often think that they are having a heart attack.
Another reason why pregnant women often times suffer from the symptom of pregnancy heartburn is that the weight of the growing baby on their stomach may cause a lot of pressure in the stomach. Pregnant women who eat large portions of food may experience a reflux of the food into the esophagus and throat coupled with that tight feeling in the chest area. The tightening of the chest will cause a lot much pain to pregnant women especially during the later part of their pregnancy.
